Broad Institute - Genomics Platform

State-of-the-Art Space for Genomics Research

High caliber research involving sample handling, genotyping, gene expression, and genome sequencing deserves a facility as sophisticated as its studies.

The Genomics Platform at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard provides advanced technologies, applications development and high throughput processes to Broad researchers, allied institutions, and biotech industry partners. The phased project consolidated a 200-person research group into an existing building at 320 Bent Street in Kendall Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

We collaborated with a large group of researchers and stakeholders to master plan, program and design flexible laboratories scaled on industry models. Office spaces were opened up to promote team communication. Gathering spaces added throughout the building. Support spaces included a freezer farm for up to 50 freezers (-80C), industry-scaled walk-in freezers and centralized consumables storage
